Winganna Lambskins for Babies
Winganna Natural Lambskins for babies. Cool in Summer, Warm in Winter
Winganna Natural Fleeces
Lambskins for Baby
Parents in Great Britain, New Zealand, Australia and America have been rediscovering the amazing properties of Lambskins and the benefits it brings to both babies and parents.
Winganna Natural Lambskins are produced by a Company in the Southwest of England, where our mild, wet climate produces a uniquely soft dense and resilient fleece. They are carefully selected and specially processed for use with babies. The wool has been sheared to give firm mattress support and then carefully combed to remove any loose fibres so there is no danger of babies picking up bits of fluff or breathing in long fibres. Each lambskin is subject to stringent quality control.
Winganna Natural Sheepskins allow the air to circulate between the fibres which helps to keep your baby cool in the Summer and warm in the Winter. For the same reason, moisture from damp nappies or sweat circulates away from the baby.
Winganna Lambskins are processed so they can be machine-washed and cool tumbledried. The Lambskins do not spoil easily and can be aired and brushed regularly to keep fresh. Between washings a light sponging will clean away any accidents.
*Medical Benefits
Weight Gain. Medical research in a special care baby unit in the Cambridge Maternity Hospital in England has demonstrated that high-risk and premature babies gain weight faster when sleeping on lambswool rather than on conventional bedding. Babies with lambswool in their incubators gained 1.1 ounces a day, compared to .7 ounces gained by babies on regular bedding, according to the 1979 study published in The Lancet Medical Journal. Further studies and thousands of families attest to the fact that the baby you love will sleep longer and better on a lambskin.
Advice
If you are using the Lambskin as a bedding item where the baby is under 1 year, it is advisable to put the baby on their back and that the Lambskin is covered completely with a sheet.
