Pregnancy Diary - WEEK 15
Had my bloods this week. I was dreading it as I hate needles. The nurse laughed at me, she wondered why after I had been through something as painful as childbirth, I was still frightened of injections! It was really easy though, she took about 5 test tubes of blood from me for various tests including Downs. The results should be with my doctor in a couple of weeks.
Now that's over, I can look forward to Christmas. Its pretty tiring being pregnant, let alone trying to prepare for Christmas aswell. I have been trying to look for something nice to wear on Christmas Day, I found a nice skirt with an elasticated waist that I can wear as a hipster skirt under my growing bump. It looked really nice.
My boobs are huge. I really need to go and get some new bras. The maternity bras I have are ugly and boring, I want to get some pretty ones. I will check out M&S to see if they have improved their collection since last time. My boobs are covered in veins and are very hard. Still, its an improvement on the poached eggs I had before.
I can feel the baby squirming around a bit, particularly when I am relaxing in bed. Its still quite early to feel the baby move inside you but this is my second pregnancy and I am still fairly slim so its easier for me to feel.
I have to book an appointment with my doctor for when I am 18 weeks as they are going to keep an eye on my blood pressure due to the pre-eclampsia I had last time, I guess they will give me my blood results at the same time.
I am feeling quite excited about the baby. Up until now I have felt a bit strange about it, thinking that I wont have as much time to dedicate to my daughter, but now I am looking forward to seeing her response when we bring her little brother or sister home from hospital.
