Pregnancy Diary - WEEK 16

Christmas has been and gone. Mince pies, chocolate, turkey, turkey and more turkey. I am now bursting out of my clothes but this is due to excessive eating (which includes After Eights for breakfast!). I promise my diet is going to improve from January. More fruit and veg. I am going to dust my juicer down and I have just brought a food mixer to make my own smoothies and soups. I have to eat all the biscuits and chocolates first that are left over from Christmas. It would be awful to waste food like that when there are starving children in the world?!?

Bump is growing slowly and I do look pregnant now, not just flabby. I was flicking through Pregnancy and Birth magazine and they said that the clothing company Red Herring do a maternity range now. Great! Their stuff is quite trendy, so a visit to Debenhams is needed shortly.

I was lying in bed the other night, and I was woken by the baby squirming. I put my hand on my tummy and felt the baby move a lot, I think it might have been turning over. I haven't been able to sleep on my back or front for a while, though sometimes I do wake up on my back. Its not good for the baby if you sleep on your back, apparently it can block their oxygen supply.

I promised myself that I wouldn't go all mummsy and frumpy with my clothes during this pregnancy, but it seems to be happening again. I appear to be attracted to frills, blouses and flary skirts. I bought a Victoriana type top the other day, which at the time, I thought was lovely and pretty. When I got it home and put it on ready to go out, my husband suggested it may be a good idea to save it for when I was more heavily pregnant. I guess he was trying to say that it made me look frumpy. I need to get to Red Herring now before I lose it completely.

I am cleaning more again. I actually vacuumed under the bed other day and I am clearing out drawers and cupboards. My hormones are trying to prepare me for the new arrival!
