Pregnancy Diary - WEEK 28

Had a bit of pain this week with my braxton hicks. I knew the baby had moved position, as the bump was very small and tight. With each braxton hicks, I was getting tremendous pain in my back, bum and left leg. I haven't felt anything like it since my contractions started when I gave birth last time.

Luckily I was due to see the midwife on the afternoon the pains started. My husband had to drive me to the appointment as there was no way I could drive. I could barely move when the pain hit.

I had a few pains in the waiting room but typically they stopped as soon as I got into the midwifes room. She did see my in some discomfort in the waiting room so she asked what was wrong. She examined my bump and said the baby was head down. The heartbeat and everything was fine and the baby was growing well. She thinks the pain could be sciatica but I am not so sure. The pain seemed to come with the contractions. She said to keep an eye on it and if it got worse to go to hospital and they would check me over. She said that I could go into labour as early as 28 weeks, some women do, though its hardly ideal.

Luckily the baby moved position by late afternoon, back to its usual feet top left hand of my tummy and hands bottom right. As soon as it moved, the pains stopped. What worries me is that the baby goes head down again towards the very end, will I get those pains back. I really hope not, that was agony.
