Pregnancy Diary - WEEK 31

The stress of moving has hit me this week. I woke up one day with swollen fingers and I could hardly move, I could have slept all day. Everyone told me off for doing too much but as usual I didn't listen. I had to take my daughter to the theatre that afternoon too to see the Fimbles, she enjoyed it but I will still feeling really tired.

It has taken me a few days to get over the exhaustion of moving and 3 mornings running I had swollen fingers. I wasn't sure whether it was a sign of pre-eclampsia so I contacted my midwife who said it wasn't anything to worry about unless it was accompanied by swelling all over, ie. Feet, ankles, face etc. After a few days of taking it a bit more easy the swelling disappeared, though I made a point of taking my wedding and engagement rings off just incase they get stuck on if I swelled up again.

Last time I was pregnant, towards the end, my fingers and hands would be swollen every day and it took me about an hour of soaping to get my rings off. I suffered from carpel tunnel syndrome which is where the swelling presses on your nerves and it is really quite painful. I used to get shooting pains from my elbow to my thumb and first finger.

It is Easter this coming weekend so no doubt my chocolate intake will increase again, I will try and be good but cant see it myself!
