Pregnancy Diary - WEEK 33
I have had lots of really strong braxton hicks this week. The baby moved into the head down position again and it was really uncomfortable as it seems to press on a nerve when it is in that position. I had a couple of bad nights sleep because of it. I did take paracetamol but it didn't relieve the pain.
A few people have noticed my extra chin this week, including me! I was concerned it might be swelling as last time my face and ankles were swollen. I nipped into the surgery to get my blood pressure checked but it was fine, so it looks like it was the Easter Eggs! I booked an appointment to see the midwife next week, so will have it checked again then. I will also mention the painful braxton hicks when the baby is head down. I am sure there is nothing she can do, but she needs to know.
My boobs seem to be leaking colostrum more now, particularly when I relax, like in the bath or in bed. I am really hoping I can breastfeed again but you never know.
I took my daughter to a party this week and loads of people commented that I looked really well and didn't look as far gone as I was. Then the next day when I took her to pre-school, one of the mums commented that I was huge!!! I guess different people have different perceptions on what is big and whats not.
I am going to start taking Raspberry Leaf Tea Capsules now ready to soften my cervix for the birth. Apparently they really help, and I will do anything to make sure this baby is not late.
I have started to wash baby vests and sort out what I need to get. I don't need a lot really but the most expensive things I need is a new car seat (the last one was awful, it didn't support my daughters head at all well) and a new buggy. I don't like prams, they are horrible, clumsy things, but there are not many buggys that can be used from birth. MacClaren have just launched a new three wheeler bugger called the MX3 which can be used from birth so I will get one of those.
